How the Freight Assistant works

This is not a general chatbot. Every answer is retrieved from pages RapidShips has published and sourced, then arranged into a short answer, why it matters, what to do next, related tools and the sources. If nothing verified matches, it says so and points you to search, the glossary or a person.

Which sources come first

  1. Official and primary sourcesFederal rules, port authority and terminal operator pages, official statistics.
  2. Verified RapidShips datasetsOfficial figures in the Freight Data Center, with period and source.

Nothing the assistant writes is treated as a source. It shows where each answer came from and labels RapidShips analysis separately from source data.

What it will not do

  • Claim live information: terminal status, congestion, release times, open doors or capacity tonight all need confirmation from the terminal or from the dock.
  • Quote a price. RapidShips publishes no rate card; every cost part is “Requires Quote” and a person reviews each request.
  • Send anything on its own. A quote request or a message to the dock only goes out after you check it and press send.
  • Read documents. It will not open a BOL or packing list; tell it the details you want to use instead, or attach files in the Freight Scope Builder for a person to review.

Privacy

What you tell the assistant about your shipment is kept in this browser tab only (session storage) and is gone when you close it. Your question is sent to rapidships.com to be answered and is not stored there. Analytics record only counts and categories, never what you typed.
